Here are two questions which explain the golden rules for conversations with your hosts about visitors and guests. Thanks for understanding.

Question 1

Should you ask your host if you want people to visit you at home?
YES: It is important that you ask your hosts in advance, before you bring other people to their home. Many hosts will be happy for you to have guests, especially during the day. However, you still need to ask them.

Question 2

Who decides whether it is ok for people to visit you in your homestay?
HOSTS: We encourage you to talk to your host about guests, but ultimately it is your host’s decision whether they can stay. Usually hosts are happy for occasional visitors during the day provided they are respectful. However, this is not always the case, so please check first. Having guests to stay overnight is sometimes possible, but not always. Talk to us if you have any questions about this.
