Destination UK

What proportion of the world’s international students study in the UK?
12.5% – According to the latest statistics from Universities UK, Britain is the 2nd most popular destination in the World for international students after the USA.

Where is Home?

The country with most students travelling to the UK is:
China – Over 100,000 Chinese students study in the UK every year. There are about 4000 Norwegians. That means all Heltberg students make up nearly 2% of international students from Norway!

What about Homestay?

  1. Some homestay families will have other international students staying with them whilst you are there.
  2. This can be a very positive thing. However, it is also important that you talk to your hosts and discuss any arrangements.
  3. Be reassured that you will never have other students living in your bedroom, but like other members of the household, they may share bathroom facilities.
  4. Hosts are asked to make us aware if they plan to have other students living with them. Therefore, if you are at all unclear about the plans, talk to us.
